Position
We are undergoing a transformative phase with the implementation of a new ERP system. During this critical period, we’re looking for a skilled and adaptable generalist qualified accountant to provide comprehensive support, ensuring the finance function operates smoothly and efficiently.
You’ll be a versatile and proactive qualified accountant able to join us on a 1 year fixed term contract. You’ll be an all-rounder, capable of handling a wide range of financial tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative, and high-growth environment, working as part of a dynamic finance team.
The role sits within our global Finance function, will be based in our London office (EC3N) with a minimum of 3 days in the office. You’ll report to the Head of Financial Control (London based). Our CFO is also based in London.
Your key responsibilities:
- General Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP).
- ERP System Implementation Support: Collaborate with the finance team and external consultants to support the transition to the new ERP system, including data migration, process mapping, and testing.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee invoice processing, payment runs, and customer collections to ensure timely and accurate cash flow management.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts. Report actuals against budget/forecast and work with budget holders to identify cost savings and ensure spend remains on budget.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory requirements, identifying areas for process improvement.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks: Take on varied finance-related tasks as needed, including supporting audits, preparing management reports, and resolving discrepancies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. operations, HR, and IT) to ensure seamless integration of financial processes with the new ERP system.
Requirements
- Professional Qualification: Fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a generalist finance role, ideally within a fast-paced or high-growth environment with strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS. It’s likely you’ve spent 3 years in industry (service industry preferred) having started in an accounting firm.
- ERP Knowledge: Experience with ERP system implementations (e.g. SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday or similar) is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; familiarity with data migration and system testing is a plus.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle a broad range of tasks, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive and analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Private Equity Exposure: Experience in a PE-backed or high-growth organization is advantageous but not essential.
