Operations Team

Company Description

JMAN Group is a fast-growing data engineering & data science consultancy. We work primarily with Private Equity Funds and their Portfolio Companies to create commercial value using Data & Artificial Intelligence. In addition, we also work with growth businesses, large corporates, multinationals, and charities.

We are headquartered in London with Offices in New York and Chennai. Our team of 400+ people is a unique blend of individuals with skills across commercial consulting, data science and software engineering.

We were founded by cousins Anush Newman (Co-founder & CEO) and Leo Valan (Co-founder & CTO) and have grown rapidly since 2019. In May 2023 we took a minority investment from Baird Capital and in January 2024 we opened an office in New York with the ambition of growing our US business to be as large as our European business by 2027.

Our UK team is currently 100+ people and as we are continuing to grow across all offices, we are always looking for ambitious, intelligent, self-motivated individuals excited to work for a global, high growth company in an exciting and fast paced environment.

Position

Due to our ongoing and significant growth, we’re looking for an experienced FP&A Business Partner with a focus on data and modelling, to be based in our London office (EC3N). The role sits within our global Finance function reporting to the Head of FP&A (London based). Our CFO is also based in London.

This role is key to ensuring we have the tools and insight to support high-quality forecasting, planning, and business decision-making. You’ll have an opportunity to bring your data-driven FP&A experience, strengths in modelling, reporting, and data management, alongside being highly analytical, numerate, and a problem solver.

You’ll work closely with teams across Finance, Operations, and Consulting to build and structure robust financial models, create clear dashboards, and shape the reporting that drives business performance. While technical skills in Excel, Power BI, and Power Query are important, this is a finance-first role—you’ll need to understand the numbers and the story they tell.

Over the next 12 months, we’re implementing an ERP system, including an FP&A Planning tool. You will be central to that transition—supporting data migration, maintaining legacy reporting, and helping define our future-state planning and reporting environment.

This role focuses on data and modelling, working in close partnership with a peer covering commercial, compliance, and governance. Together you will build a strong collaboration, with scope for knowledge sharing, cross-training, and career development across both areas.

You’ll be suited to contributing within a busy and small yet growing team, where you’ll use your proactive team-working and collaboration skills, locally and globally.

It’s an exciting time to join us and play a critical role in enhancing our FP&A function and JMAN’s growth and success.

Your responsibilities

  • Build and maintain models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Develop automated data workflows using Power Query and Excel.
  • Design and improve Power BI dashboards that provide visibility into key performance metrics.
  • Support month-end and performance reviews with clear, accurate reporting and insight.
  • Partner with Finance and Consulting teams to ensure consistency across data, models, and assumptions.
  • Maintain and evolve “as is” reporting during the ERP transition.
  • Contribute to data migration, ensuring accuracy between legacy systems and new ERP.
  • Support the implementation of the new ERP system, including rebuilding models, testing, and reporting redesign.
  • Help define best practices for modelling and reporting in the post-ERP implementation environment.
  • Use data to highlight trends, surface risks and opportunities, and support strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in FP&A or commercial finance, ideally in a fast-paced, inhouse consulting or services environment, within industry.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in understanding data, data structures, working with large data sets, and data modelling.
  • Preferred qualifications: CIMA, ACCA or ACA.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with solid experience in Power BI and Power Query.
  • Familiarity with FP&A reporting tools (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Strong financial acumen. You understand forecasts, drivers, and how to turn data into actionable insight.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, with the confidence to engage stakeholders and build relationships outside of Finance, at all levels, locally and globally.
  • Comfortable operating during systems change and contributing to ERP implementations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with an ability to effectively manage multiple pieces of work concurrently, competing deadlines and priorities, whilst maintaining a high-level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening), and a high standard of business English (written and verbal).
  • A self-starter who’s able to work independently, as well as part of a team, and takes ownership and accountability.
  • Solutions focussed, pragmatic, comfortable working with ambiguity in an agile environment, and able to bring additional structure when needed.
