We work primarily with Private Equity Funds and their Portfolio Companies to create commercial value using Data & Artificial Intelligence. In addition, we also work with growth businesses, large corporates, multinationals, and charities.

We are headquartered in London with Offices in Chennai, London and New York. Our team of 380+ people are a unique blend of individuals with skills across commercial consulting, data science and software engineering.

We were founded by cousins Anush Newman (Co-founder & CEO) and Leo Valan (Co-founder & CTO) and have grown rapidly since 2019 and in May 2023 we took a minority investment from Baird Capital to partner with us as we achieve our ambitious goals.

Position

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure to support data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics workloads in Azure.
  • Automate data solutions and infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, or ARM templates.
  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data platforms in Azure, leveraging services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Design, build, and manage cloud-native and microservices-based architectures using Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Serverless ASP, Function Apps, and API Management.
  • Develop and implement Azure Landing Zones (LZ) based on Microsoft Enterprise Scale Architecture principles such as IAM, governance, cost management, monitoring, and policy-as-code. (on this side not sure how much our team has exp).
  • Ensure networking and security best practices by working with Hub-Spoke architecture, Azure Front Door, Firewalls, and security tools like Defender and Sentinel.
  • Work with observability tools to enhance monitoring, logging, and performance insights.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and security compliance in cloud solutions.
  • Implement cloud security best practices by integrating services like Azure Security Centre, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Sentinel into the platform architecture.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and Data Engineering teams to ensure continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are integrated with the platform.
  • Design and deploy high availability and disaster recovery solutions to ensure platform uptime and resilience.
  • Oversee platform monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure optimal performance and quick resolution of issues.
  • Optimise the cost and resource management of cloud services and infrastructure, ensuring efficient use of Azure resources.
  • Work with containerisation technologies like Kubernetes and Docker to deploy and manage data services.
  • Support migrating on-premises solutions to Azure, ensuring a smooth transition for data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate platform requirements, address scalability concerns, and integrate new data technologies.
  • Create documentation for platform architecture, automation scripts, and deployment procedures.

Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in cloud platform engineering, focusing on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong expertise with Azure Data Services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL.
  • Azure certification (AZ-104 or AZ-500) required. AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) certifications are essential for ensuring secure and efficient platform management (Optional)
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, or similar tools.
  • Experience in containerisation and orchestration using Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), or Docker.
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, Bash).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and platform automation using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
  • Familiarity with data security concepts, access control models, and Azure security services (e.g., Azure Active Directory, Key Vault, Security Centre).
  • Solid understanding of cloud cost management and resource optimisation.
  • Experience with platform monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, or Application Insights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve platform performance and availability issues.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience with data engineering and knowledge of building ETL pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with serverless architectures and related Azure services like Azure Functions.
  • Knowledge of Azure governance services (e.g., Azure Policy, Blueprints, Cost Management).
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and services like Azure Databricks or Hadoop.
